Power of Your Testimony 🗣️

Share the news of what God has done for you

Hey Sis,

Let's recognise the transformative power of our personal testimonies. They have the potential to impact and change someone’s life profoundly. Sharing our stories of salvation and the countless ways God has intervened in our lives should be a regular practice. What better way to showcase the realness and faithfulness of God to the world?

Someone in the prayer group wrote this, and she was happy for me to share it with you.

Reasons Why We Need to Share Our Testimonies.

  1. Testimonies seal our miracle. Luke 17:11-19

  2. Testimonies reveal God's power and possibilities. 2 Kings 8:1-6

  3. Testimonies draw unbelievers to God. Act 4:4

  4. Testimony opens the hearts of believers and unbelievers to God's possibilities.

  5. Testimony reveals that no situation or challenge is permanent. Mark 5:25-34

  6. Testimony reveals that there is a Superior being behind everything we see. Gen 1&2

  7. Testimony reveals that God can change and transform lives. The story of Saul, Esther, Joseph, and David.

  8. Testimony builds our faith more in God.

  9. Testimony reveals that the word impossible does not truly exist.

  10. Testimony reveals God's love for us. John 3:16

  11. Testimony encourages people and shows that God can be Trusted. The story of the Hebrew Boys.

Many of us are living in answered prayers right now, but sometimes, we forget and hold on to the things that haven't happened yet. God has shown himself over and over in my life.  As I type this, the song that comes to mind is ‘When I think of the goodness of the Lord and all He has done for me, my very soul shall shout Hallelujah, Praise God for saving me.’

I remember when a friend told me about a time the Holy Spirit prompted her to share her testimony with a friend. She didn't feel comfortable doing so, but she went ahead. God used her testimony to deliver someone else going through the same thing.

A couple of years ago, I shared some of my testimonies online, and people messaged me, telling me how that encouraged and stirred up their faith.

There are two testimonies I want to share.

During my master's, I failed an assignment. I still remember opening my laptop to see the result. However, I didn't panic or start worrying. I heard clearly in my spirit that I needed to worship. It was funny, but I said, "OK, God, I will still give you glory." I had a class in an hour with this lecturer. I spent 30 mins worshipping and thanking God; I sang You Made a Way by Travis Greene. I wasn’t expecting anything to happen, but I felt so peaceful heading into my class. It turns out a few of us failed the assignment. As the class started, the lecturer told us that He would remark the assignment that the department head said he was being too harsh. That’s how I ended up passing that assignment.

God has always had a hand when it comes to my career. I see it every time. It took me some time to get my current job. I started job hunting in December 2020 because I was tired of my previous role. I was getting interviews, but none was going anywhere. It was so bad that in July 2021, I had seven back-to-back job interviews, and I didn't move forward in any of them. At this point, I was tired, and I gave up. I went to God and told him that you created me, and you know my skills and talents, so I will leave it to You to give me what you know is right for me. I wrote down what I sought regarding flexibility/culture/salary, etc. In September 2021, I got a message on LinkedIn from a recruiter from my current company about a job opportunity. As part of the recruitment process, I had to do an aptitude test. The day I was doing it, my laptop stopped working halfway through, and I had 15 minutes to answer as many questions as possible.

I prayed over my laptop, and it started working again, but I lost time. I submitted what I could and hoped for the best. A few days later, I had an interview with my hiring manager. It was great, and it was more of a conversation. I asked her if she had any concerns that would hinder her from hiring me. She said she did have one, but before I could respond, she said someone gave her a chance, so she would like to pay it forward to me (it was a completely different industry for me). I couldn't believe it; I didn't need to say anything. A few more interviews later, I got the job. The entire process took three months due to timing issues. I had to keep faith and believe the job was mine.

I could share many more, but I would love to hear from you. It has been on my mind for over a year to start sharing my testimonies and those of others. I put it on the back burner, but I was reminded about it, and I thought, "Let me get back on that." I'm eagerly looking forward to hearing your testimonies. Your story is important and can inspire others. Let's publicly share them. (You can choose to be anonymous.) Click here to tell me what God has done for you.

Each of our stories is a powerful tool in bringing others to God. It's not just a story; it's a testament to the power of faith and the impact of God's love. Let's not underestimate the impact of our personal testimonies. They are crucial in building and strengthening our faith in God. They help us recognise and acknowledge God's existence and give him Glory 🙌🏽.

Let’s start this week with gratitude to God for everything He has done.
